Thanks for asking & yes, she is that smart!

This Persian cat may have bloodlines that originate in Mesopotamia but our little Mexican kitty is muy intelegente & loves to get wrapped up in t.v. drama.

There are hieroglyphic references as early as 1684 B.C. to Katerina's Persian origins. While this is a lofty ancestry, she is a very smart kitty & certainly has kept us entertained down here south of the Rio Grande. Katerina has made her interest in television known for some time now. Sunday evenings she will position herself at the t.v. & watch Animal Planet non stop. She doesn't restrict her shows to Animal Planet though. She is quite fond of Desperate Housewives & seems to like Dr. McDreamy on our favorite Dr. show. Katerina has great taste but tends to drift off if the commercial interludes aren't to her taste!

...and she is bilingual too, Spanish language novelas aren't out of the question!

Cuidado, gato, too much television is not good for you and be sure you don't sit too close to the tv.

Last Fall when we went on vacation and left our outdoor cat alone indoors for 2 weeks (someone came in to feed him), I bought him a betta fish. Someone had said he would be happier having something to watch. He took one look and never looked again. I have been taking care of the fish since then. Tried to sell it at our garage sale, offered it to the kid next door (asked the parents)...still have it. Next time we go away, Sassy gets the Animal Planet channel, whether he wants it or not!

It is so true that our animals are much smarter than we ever give them credit for!

Muy interesante, Sweet William turns up his nose at TV, being outside is more his style, and Neo perfers to sit on somone facing away from the screen.Maybe we are watching the wrong things, the shows you mention except for animal planet are not on our regular veiwing schedule. Bogy on the other hand truely enjoys home shows and a variety of mystery shows from House and CSI to Monk and PBS Mystery.

Well, I have to say that our pet's t.v. habits mimic their owners so Bogy is in good company. Katerina however is relegated to the whims of whatever we can locate on SKY network in Latin America. She tries so hard to elevate the level of our viewing though!!

okay, i'm sorry to say this, but how smart is katarina when puppy jack enjoys watching tv just as much as she does? we all know jack is a sweet dog, but not as bright as others. my much more dignified pets (allie and molly) find tv to be beneath them.

Well, as I said pets do mimic owners, so Molly is only going along till you are out of the house & she is checkin out the digital tvo!!! Don't fool yourself. Sofa dog isn't above t.v:)

hey, if Molly loves the same shows I do, she's one helluva smart dog! now what does that say about your viewing habits if the cat is mimicking you?? do you paw at animal planet too?
